FroYo Run FAQ

Can I get a discount? Yes.

Discounted tickets are available for Groups and Couples.

Can I Buy Tickets On-site?

If the race is not sold out, of course you can purchase at the event check in or at the packet pickup the day before the race (note: packet pickup may not be offered at every location)

Can I check in for a friend?

Yes. Note: All Goodie Bags must be picked up on-site and cannot be shipped to participants.

When can I check-in? During the packet pickup & registration times listed on your city’s schedule.

All check-in is on-site starting 1.5 to 2 hours prior to the start; see your City’s Details Page. For stress-free parking and check-in, arrive at least 1 hour prior to the start. There are plenty of pre-party festivities and prizes for the early birds. Check your email and your City’s Details page for schedule specifics. If you arrive less than 15 minutes before the start, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COLLECT YOUR PACKET AND PARTICIPATE. No late starts are allowed due to safety, permitting, and traffic planning of street closures.

What is included with my entry fee? All sorts of toppings!

Your entry includes the most amazing running Goodie Bag: a delectable cup of frozen yogurt topped your way. You have the option to include stylish sunglasses and a premium mesh running hat or add a tank or tee. You’ll also receive the exclusive 5k FroYo Run finisher medal, lots of race photos free to download, and professional “chip” timing. Quite a sweet deal for a day of entertainment.

How fast do I have to be? Brisk walker.

There are required minimum paces. 5k (3.1 miles) participants must maintain at least a pace of 20 minutes per mile. 10k (6.2 miles) participants must maintain at least a pace of 16 minutes per mile. This is faster than a leisurely stroll, it’s a brisk walk…let’s see some sweat! A little bit of training makes the FroYo Run more enjoyable. Due to permitting & safety, participants below the minimum paces are asked to complete the course on the sidewalk.

How old do I have to be? All ages.

Fitness is important at every age. You can participate as long as you can cover the distance on your own. All runners, walkers, and joggers need a ticket to participate. Kiddos in strollers don’t need a ticket (but they don’t get froyo or a cool goodie bag…).

Are Strollers allowed? Yes.

Strollers and their cute cargo are welcome at the FroYo Run. Strollers self-seed by pace just like the rest of the runners. Remember, for safety, self-seed by the pace of the slowest member of your group.

Do I need everyone’s Info before buying group tickets?

You will need at least 4 people to start a group.  Your friends can join your group if they have your transaction number and the name of your team.

I don’t know my running/walking pace? Check this guide.

One person’s fast is another person’s slow. If you don’t know your pace per mile, here’s a rough description of running/jogging/walking paces.

  • <9min/mile You’re Fast. You know your pace
  • 9-10min/mile Quick. You consider yourself a runner more than a jogger
  • 10-12min/mile Cruisin’. You consider yourself a jogger more than a runner
  • Run/Walk Mix in walking with your running/jogging
  • Walk Plan on a brisk walk throughout with little or no jogging

Can I participate with a medical condition or while pregnant? We can’t say.

Medical advice is best left to your personal or family doctor. Check with them if you are unsure if you should participate.

What is the FroZone? An impressive cooling tunnel.

The FroZone is a 75′ revitalizing cooling tunnel near the finish. Complete with music, mist, and cheering fans, it’s guaranteed to fuel your finishing sprint.

Do I have to go through the FroZone?

The finish FroZone is not mandatory. However, on a hot day, it’s sure to be welcomed.

Is there drinking water on-course? Yes, with water and Gatorade

There is an aid station with water and Gatorade at the midpoint. Additional water at the Finish.

What safety measures are taken? Many.

Police and EMTs are on site in case an emergency arises. Still, you enter the FroYo Run at your own risk and agree to the USA Track & Field Running Event Waiver terms.

Can I get a refund? No, sorry.

You may transfer your ticket to another person or to the Virtual Option, but we have a strict no refund policy. Sorry, no refunds under any circumstance.

What if it rains? FroYo is a go!

FroYo Run is a celebration best enjoyed in warm weather. However, mother nature sometimes has her own plans. Check the forecast and plan; FroYo Run is a go rain or shine. Please wear weather appropriate clothing. If the weather is severe then FroYo Run may be delayed until it passes.

Can I bring my dog? Sorry, but this is a people event.

DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON-COURSE. We love our dogs and run with them often. With 2,000+ people on the course, it’s not a good place for Lassie.

Can friends & family come to watch? Sure, but why not run!?

Spectators are welcomed free of charge. But why not invite them to join you? Want to play a bigger support role? Become a volunteer!

Can I take photos during the FroYo Run? Yes, and we will too!

Entertain the shutterbug in you and snap away. Please snap responsibly, no one likes a shady paparazzi. Share them on Instagram & Twitter with #WillRunForFroYo during the event for a chance to win sweet prizes. The FroYo Run also has pro photographers at the finish. Free photos are available a few days following the FroYo Run. Look for an email when those are ready.

Will there be non-dairy FroYo available? Yes.

You can typically find non-dairy sorbets as a flavor choice. If not, there are limited quantities of non-dairy FroYo available at the event. When filling out your FroYo bib tag, simply write “ND” under the flavor choices, then circle it. Volunteers will know to grab non-dairy FroYo for you. Choose your toppings like normal, and enjoy!
